Ok, so today is blog day #2!!! So I'm going to start out by writing what I am thankful for today... I am thankful for waking up to an amazing sunny day with some crazy nice weather. Now like most of us we take things like a sunny day for granted, but today after my meditation, I was especially mindful of the outdoors and the amazing day that lay ahead of me. Second, I am thankful for my brother... He has just returned from serving a mission in Sweden for the past two years for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and he's such an amazing example to me. I have always looked up to my brother as an example, teacher and best friend. Sadly my brother will be leaving tomorrow for BYU Provo, and I will miss him a lot. But I know that he will do great things while he is there and I know that he has a bright and successful future ahead of him. Third, I am thankful today for the Live Your Legend community and how their example has inspired me to find my passion. I know that even though I am 18 years old and still have a lot to learn, I can still find my passion and be supported by people all around the world that have the same values and ideas. Also, today I would like to talk about what people thank me for... When this question first came into my mind, it took me a minute to think of what people would thank me for.... But after thinking for a bit, I thought of these things. #1: I love a challenge- People like to thank me for my willingness to accept a challenge, and my inner drive for achieving a certain task that may seem impossible to surmount. Challenges like doing P90x, and having a drive to complete the challenge of pushing my bodies limits for 90 days. I not only did this in working out, but also in education. People will be thankful to see that I like taking on challenges, since it will cause me to do things which I did not even think were possible. #2: My time: People thank me for giving my time to others- I love to give my time to others in service and help. Others around know that even if I have a lot going on in my schedule, I can still make the time in my day to make sure I can help them out or assist them. #3: My positive attitude: Others can see that I like to be optimistic and polite to others- having this positive attitude for school, sports, church, and life has helped me to find happiness in myself and others. By having a positive attitude, I can help to spread the positivity and fun to those around me- creating a community of positivity and caring. I would like to close with some of the things that I plan on improving this upcoming year. #1: Practicing the Piano- God has given me the talent of playing the piano, and I know that I need to use my talent more to not only enjoy doing the thing that I love but also to spread the joy of music to others that might want to take up the piano. The piano will be an added benefit to my life, and it will be a hobby to make myself and others happier. #2: Blogging- I would love to improve my writing skills this upcoming year, and I know that blogging will help me to become a better writer. Blogging is going to help me to get my ideas and feelings out to the world, and I know it will help me to improve my skills in typing and how to work a computer. #3 Spirituality and understanding- This upcoming year is the year that I want to become closer to my Heavenly Father. I know that if I read his scriptures diligently, pray often, and search for guidance, I know that he will give me comfort and peace. Over this next year I am challenging myself to read the Bible and the Book of Mormon- praying and writing down the things which I have pondered. I know that this year will be an amazing one, and I cannot wait to see all the blessings from God in my life.
